I purchased my Giant bike from the Giant Store, Cambridge shop earlier this year. Having read many reviews it seemed the Giant Defy was the one to go for on the budget I had, however being my first road bike was hoping to get some advice and input from knowledgeable staff to help me make my final decision. This is were this store fell poorly short of the mark. Maybe if I went in on a weekday I would have seen a full time member of staff, but unfortunately the staff I dealt with seemed entirely un-proactive in offering guidance and advice, and though friendly enough I felt I had to keep prompting questions when what I wanted was to be asked about how I would be using the bike etc so that I could be sure this was the right bike for me. What I ended up with was a very nice bike, brought from a store that seems to just take my money and offer little else. Shortly after my purchase I had issues with the saddle but really didn't want to go back to this store. A friend recommended I try Primo Cycles in Jesus Lane. What a totally different experience. Greeted by the owner Steve and his enthusiastic staff who really couldn't do enough t help even tough I hadn't brought the bike there. This was the shopping experience I was hoping to get from the Giant store. I have been several times since and won't be going elsewhere in future. I just wished I had gone there in the first place.
Booked in my service for the wrong day, took 4 days to complete it, added extra adjustments to the service without my permission and charged me for them. Additionally, told me to buy the wrong part for my bike, which is a Giant. All in all, very unimpressed and I won't be going back.
Very good service, very knowledgeable staff that helps you make the best decisions. They have second to none approach and for the little extra you pay for the bike, it's all worth it considering that you have access to great mechanics to make sure your bike is riding smoothly!
I recently picked up a bike for my wife's birthday. I didn't get to the store until they were about to close but the staff were still very helpful. I ended up getting a good price for the bike as well. I would definitely shop their again.
The review of the students in Cambridge should be taking in consideration, because they drive the economy of the city.
The students’ say might be important to take in consideration.
Are you students or graduate from Cambridge Uk?
